Experiential Therapy

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old… we grow old because we stop playing.”

—George Bernard Shaw

Have you tried talk therapy before and it just did not work for you?

Experiential therapy goes beyond traditional talk therapy using art, somatic movement, mindfulness, music, and sandtray to facilitate healing and growth by moving out of the cognitive and into the subconscious experience.

Benefits

  • Multisensory approach

  • Release unpleasant emotions

  • Understand thoughts and behaviors to build a healthier self-concept

  • Build deeper understanding of your own emotional processing, inner thoughts, and motivations

  • Tap into areas of the subconscious

  • Create a deeper brain body connection

  • Build a better sense of autonomy

  • Resolve internal conflict and build acceptance

What to Expect:

You are the expert of your life. You will teach me about you past (to help give me a holistic understanding of you), your present (who are you now? what are your habits and behaviors), and your future (what do you wish to change or understand about yourself?).

Together we will explore the true you through creative expression (art, music, movement, writing). We will practice somatic techniques such as mindfulness and yoga to help regulate the nervous system and build awareness from the bottom up (body to brain). We will explore your experiencing of these interventions, make connections through symbolism, and connect to the subconscious.
